Expertise

I have more than thirty years experience in writing and directing grants that brought in more than $18 million in funds. In the areas of program management and assessment, I have served on a number of Federal Government granting agency review panels and also headed up university committees on grant management, faculty development, and campus safety.

In addition to my role as grant Program Director I have led workshops for my colleagues on grant writing and the preparation of their successful research grant applications, and served as member and chair of Advisory Committees of several successful grants.

In a two-year association with a not-for-profit theater company I wrote several grant applications that brought in operational support funding from several State of Illinois governmental agencies. This work was an important learning experience for me by establishing me outside my comfort zone of the fields of hard science and education.
